Lisa grew up in Dublin, Ireland, surrounded by the warmth of her family's traditions and the comforting tastes of her favourite Irish foods. At 18, she took a leap and moved to Toronto, where she found a new home. Over the next two decades, Lisa ran her own daycare, sharing her love for Ireland with the children she cared for. She delighted in introducing them to the flavours and customs of her homeland—something that kept her connected to her roots even across the ocean. When she discovered a small store nearby that carried beloved items from Ireland, it quickly became her go-to spot. However, when the owner spoke of retiring, Lisa felt worried—not just for herself but for the other loyal customers who depended on the shop for a taste of home. She knew this place meant so much to so many.

Around that time, she spoke with Andrew about her concerns. Andrew has always shared Lisa's love for Ireland—though he grew up in Canada, his Irish heritage has always been a core part of who he is. He loves playing Irish music, digging into stories of Irish history, and celebrating its culture in every way he can. For years, Andrew had dreamed of opening a store that could share that love more broadly. With his experience in finance and shipping, he knew they could make it happen—and when the opportunity presented itself, they both knew it was time to take the leap.

In May 2023, we opened the doors to "From There to Here," a dream turned reality. Together, we have worked to create a space that's more than just a store. We want it to be a place that brings a little bit of home to Toronto—a place filled with the warmth, community, and familiar tastes that have always meant so much to both of us. We fill our shelves with classics and favourites from Britain and Ireland, and we love hearing from you, our customers, about the items you miss most.

From There to Here is evolving with each step, but our goal remains to create a welcoming community where everyone feels a connection to home.
